Spasov & Bratanov represents clients in a full array of employment, social insurance and executive compensation matters. The firm also advises employers on compliance issues; thereby assisting our clients to ensure that their employment-related practices are compliant with applicable law. We frequently advise national and multinational corporations on management and employee benefit and incentive schemes, adopting a multi-disciplinary approach. The firm represents clients in all matters related to international hiring, including work and residence permits, and the impact of EU legislation and international employment treaties.

  • Acting for Cargill Bulgaria Group of Companies on all aspects of labour and employment law including, but not limited to, providing regular legal advice and memoranda on employment issues and company practices, drafting and preparing individual employment agreements, job descriptions, internal policy and health & safety documents, representation in connection with renegotiation and termination of employment agreements.

  • Acting for Citibank Europe plc, Bulgaria Branch in the process of education of the management on employment law aspects including but not limited to execution and termination of employment agreement, rights and obligations of the employee and the employer, protection of employees, disciplinary sanctions, basic and additional remuneration and litigation  by employees.

  • Acting for Renault – Nissan S.A. by providing regular legal advice on employment issues including drafting of employment agreements, internal documents and documents for termination of employment; representation in employment litigation including successful representation in front of the Supreme Court of Cassation.

  • Acting for the Bulgarian subsidiaries of the AES Corporation by providing regular legal advice on employment issues regarding termination of employment, including disciplinary dismissal; representation by inspections carried by the Labor Inspection and employment litigation.

  • Acting for South Stream Bulgaria AD in the process of  obtaining work permits for non EU-employees, including representation in meetings in front of the Employment Encouragement Agency and drafting of documents for compliance with the Employment Encouragement Act;. Providing regular legal advice and memoranda on employment issues including drafting of employment agreements, job descriptions, internal and health and safety documents and documents for termination of employment.

  • Advising a Hong Kong M&A advisory firm regarding an investment scenario related to Bulgaria’s permanent residency/immigration program.

  • Advising TUI on Employee Incentive Scheme.

  • Advising Froneri (a joint venture of Nestle and a private equity house) on Employee Investment Scheme.
