In one of its premiere transactions since the opening of the European Investment Bank’s regional office in Bulgaria in 2017, Spasov & Bratanov successfully advised the European Investment Bank in relation to a EUR 100,000,000 credit facility made available to Biovet AD – manufacturer and marketer of medicated and nutritional feed additives, part of the Huvepharma pharmaceutical group. Biovet AD will utilize the financing to fuel the construction of a new production plant in Peshtera, Bulgaria. It is expected that with the commissioning of the new facility in the end of this year, Biovet AD will create 150 new jobs in Peshtera and overall expand its production capabilities in Bulgaria with 50%. Allen & Overy acted as English and Luxemburg counsel with Spasov & Bratanov providing Bulgarian law advice on all aspects of the financing. This milestone transaction is yet another clear indicator of the leading position that the firms’ banking and finance practice enjoys on the Bulgarian market. Our highly experienced team consisted of Counsel Nadia Hadjova, assisted by Nayden and Irina.
