Spasov & Bratanov has once again demonstrated its strong litigation capabilities and in-depth expertise in defending clients against asset confiscation claims initiated by the State, represented by the Commission for the Confiscation of Illegally Acquired Assets.

In a recent case, the Supreme Court of Cassation issued a final judgment fully dismissing the Commission’s claims against a private individual, initially exceeding EUR 400,000. The Court reaffirmed its consistent approach that a “significant discrepancy” between income and assets must be determined solely on the basis of the person’s assets at the end of the reviewed period, reduced by their net income for the same period.

This result highlights the firm’s ability to deliver clear, strategic, and effective defense even in complex and high-value proceedings before the highest courts.
